You are incurring losses on eToro because you executed a SELL or what we also call a short position. The basic is that when you BUY, you gain when the price of the asset (in this case, the eToro Dow Jones CFD) goes up and when you SELL, you gain when the price goes down. So in this scenario, if the value of Dow Jones goes lower then that will be the time you'll be making a profit.
