Is eToro's selfie verification legit?

Has anybody here received a similar email from eToro requesting a selfie verification? Is this real or not? I've messaged their customer service to check if this is really from them but I haven't received an answer yet.

amara Better raise a ticket to eToro's website on why they are asking again for your verification.

eToro's official emails are always sent via these email addresses:

etoro.com
mailer.etoro.com
connect.etoro.com

If you receive an email from a different domain name (etoro.com) then it's definitely not from eToro so be sure to check the address of the sender. In addition, some phishing scams use fake email addresses like these so they can trick your eyes that it's legit. Here are some samples:

mailer @ info.et0ro.com - see how they changed the O with the number 0?

amara Yes, I also got an email from them and this is legit. It came from no-reply@connect.etoro.com. Be sure to check though if the email was sent via the @etoro.com. Here's my screenshot of the sender information:

Just like to update you guys. I got a response from the support team and they confirmed that this is legit. They said that this is an additional layer of security as required by CySEC. The selfie process was actually very easy. You just need to take a selfie video (not a picture) together with the ID that you previously provided to them when you verified your account, speak some words and move your head a bit to prove that you are a real person. Selfie photos can be easily manipulated these days so I guess that's the reason why they require a video instead. At least they're doing their part in making it more secure.
