How to close a position on eToro?

If you have an open trade with eToro and you'd like to close it, just follow these basic steps:

Open the platform and click on "Portfolio". Here you will be able to view all the assets that you have open trades.
Select the asset that you'd like to close.
On the right part of the specific asset, click on the red X. This will open a pop-up window.
You may close the entire position or close it partially by setting the amount or units. After making a decision, click the "Close Trade" button.

Take note: If you closed the trade while the markets are still open, it will be immediately closed but if it was done while the markets are closed, it will be executed once the market opens.

vin If you want to sell what you have bought from Etoro, you need to "Close" it (the steps posted above). Also if I may add, if you're going to use the mobile app, you need to access it on portrait mode and then swipe left on your open trade line to be able to see the red cross and click on it. You have the option to close this position at a specific price by setting a stop loss or take profit. You will be then given the option to close part of the trade also so you don't have to close it all if you don't want to. Just to make things clear, the "Sell" that you see on Etoro opens a short position, which is the opposite of buying wherein you will gain if the asset's price go down. This is very important to understand.

vin better utilize etoro's demo platform first if you're a newbie so you won't risk losing your money. you might also want to read some of the guides from this etoro wiki site so you'll understand it better.
